How we test and rate telehealth services: our editorial standards
We test telehealth platforms for speed, cost, doctor quality and user experience. Here's how we rate them, who writes our reviews, and what we won't do.
How we test telehealth platforms
We don't accept payment from the telehealth services we review. We buy access to them the way you do, use them the way you would, and publish what we find.
What we measure
Our reviews look at:
- How fast you can see a doctor
- How much it costs, and what's actually included
- Doctor credentials and background
- Whether the platform is easy to use
- How secure your data is
- Whether customer service gets back to you
Who writes our reviews
Our reviewers are journalists and healthcare specialists with a track record of testing services for real people. We name them with each review so you know who's talking.
What we won't do
We don't take money from telehealth platforms to review them. We don't accept sponsored content. We don't let platforms change what we've written after publication. We don't hide conflicts of interest.
When we link to a service, we're telling you we've tested it. That's all the endorsement means.
