Wegovy Savings Card: What You Actually Pay, and When

Novo Nordisk's Wegovy savings card caps your monthly out-of-pocket cost at $25 per dose, but the card has real limits. Knowing when it works and when it doesn't saves you money or stops you wasting time applying.

How the Savings Card Works

The card reduces what you pay at the pharmacy counter. It covers the gap between what your insurance pays and what Novo Nordisk thinks the full price should be. You pay a maximum of $25 per month for your prescription, and the card covers the rest, up to a yearly cap.

Who Gets the $25 Price

You're eligible if you have commercial insurance that covers Wegovy. The card works for most major plans. Medicare, Medicaid and uninsured patients don't qualify, though Novo Nordisk has separate patient assistance programs for those groups.

When the Savings Card Doesn't Help

If your insurance doesn't cover Wegovy at all, the card can't reduce a price your plan won't pay for. If you're uninsured, the $25 cap doesn't apply. If you have Medicare or Medicaid, you're outside the program's scope.

The Yearly Cap

The card covers up to $25,200 per year in copay assistance. After you hit that limit, you pay full price or use other assistance. For most people, this means roughly 12 doses at the $25 copay before the cap runs out.

How to Use It

You apply online at Novo Nordisk's site. Approval takes a few days. Show the digital or physical card at your pharmacy. The discount applies automatically if you're eligible.
